BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' Shatters Records and Becomes the Most Streamed Korean Drama OST of 2022

BTS V's "Christmas Tree" has proven to be a holiday hit with its powerful music source power as it has surpassed 220 million Spotify streaming. On January 10, V's "Christmas Tree" broke its own record by surpassing 220 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, becoming the shortest in the history of Korean drama OST.

According to the "2022 Wrapped" year-end settlement data released by Spotify earlier, "Christmas Tree" is the most streamed Korean drama OST in 2022 and is the eighth most streamed K-pop in the world, proving that it's loved by the fans all over the globe. V's "Sweet Night" has also set a record for the most streamed Korean drama OST on Spotify in 2020 and 2021 and was listed on the most streaming list for the third consecutive year, showing off the reputation of "Trust and Listen OST King." V is the first K-pop artist to hold a record of two OST songs exceeding 200 million streams.

It's not just on Spotify that V's "Christmas Tree" is a hit, it recently topped iTunes Top Song Charts in Niger, Zimbabwe, Armenia, Slovakia and Cypress and was first in 98 countries. This shows how it's gaining popularity not only in the realm of music but also receiving consistently favorable reviews from various media. The U.S. online news platform Elite Daily drew attention by selecting V's "Christmas Tree" as one of 24 songs on the playlist that will become a new Christmas classic among songs released after Y2K (2000s). "Rolling Stone India" picked "Christmas Tree" as one of the seven K-pop songs suitable for the festive mood and it's a popular cover song by many artists. The British boy band New HOPE CLUB was loved for posting a video of singing "Christmas Tree" along with the band's performance on YouTube channels and SNS. V's "Christmas Tree" also won "OST of the Year" at the "PAK Awards" hosted by the Brazilian entertainment site "K4US." V's "Christmas Tree" is truly a hit, and fans can't get enough of it!
