Attention Black Pink fans in China! The K-pop group is set to bring their electrifying performances to Hong Kong from January 13-15. Tickets for the highly anticipated shows sold out within just two hours of going on sale in November 2020, and since then, prices for tickets have skyrocketed as Chinese fans eagerly try to secure their spot at the concerts.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, many Chinese K-pop fans have been unable to travel abroad for the past three years, making the Black Pink shows in Hong Kong even more coveted. In fact, the price of tickets has increased up to eight times as demand continues to soar.
The good news is that the Chinese authorities have recently decided to ease quarantine for inbound travelers and ease immigration quarantine regulations, leading to speculation that the border between Hong Kong and China may soon reopen. Tickets for the Black Pink performances are being sold for more than twice their normal price on Alibaba's used goods trading platform, Shenyu, as fans rush to get their hands on them before the border potentially opens.
It's unclear at this time if the border will actually reopen or if daily traffic will be limited if it does. However, one thing is for sure - Chinese K-pop fans are eager to attend concerts and large events after being unable to do so for the past three years. The Black Pink world tour, which began in October 2020, is not to be missed, and fans will stop at nothing to be a part of the action. No specific measures have been announced by the Chinese authorities yet, so stay tuned for updates on the potential reopening of the border.
